Why Roller Tappet Technology?

The roller tappet provides the tappet a roller to ride upon the camshaft lobe instead of the sliding type interface used with standard tappets. This is an advantage as this style tappet may cause less camshaft lobe wear and help provide longer cam lobe and tappet life then the sliding type that has been used for years. The roller tappet has been used extensively in the automotive industry and has a proven success rate there.

What Does an RCA Engine Include?

All of our engines come standard with roller tappet technology, Slick magnetos, harnesses and plugs, new Skytec lightweight starter. The engine is painted standard metallic grey and has chrome tappet covers. Different colour paint is available at no extra cost. Warranty is held via us and each engine has 2 400hrs TBO.

We also offer an additional service that once the engines are installed in the aircraft we will carry out the initial start up and ground run-in for two hours for you. This is at no extra charge except for airfaire and accomodation if it is away from Cape Town. We found this to be quite a plus as this allows the engine to be kept green during the build process. 

We have two freight options from the US at +/- R12 000 for airfreight and R8 000 for sea freight.
